June/July 2010

Kandahar Break hits the big screen in the UK on 10 September 2010 (cinemas TBC)! The film also now has distribution in Australia/New Zealand with VM Distribution, to be released down under in December.

In other news, projects have included a Baltika beer commercial for Adelphoi, and films for Panasonic and the Vegan Society for Environment Films. Please also note this will be the last website news post - from now on please keep up to date at our new Facebook page (see above).

April/May 2010

The big news has to be that the feature film Kandahar Break has now secured a distribution deal for both the U.K. and the U.S., with a theatrical release planned for some cinemas in major cities in both countries, followed by DVD release. Revolver Entertainment will be distributing the film in the U.K. with the theatrical release planned for September.

I've also spent a week working at the studios of Adelphoi Music covering for their in-house composers, and have composed music for the Sky+ HD 1TB promo, a new set of idents for Magic TV, and a U.S. commercial for Betty Crocker "Warm Delights"...

February/March 2010

A hectic couple of months scoring Mt St Helens: Back From the Dead which is soon to air on Nova PBS in the U.S. A great documentary which explores the return of life to the area which was devasted by a big eruption in 1980, alongside geologists predicting if and when another eruption will occur.

January 2010

New Year, new music...! The Kandahar Break trailer is ready and can be viewed here. Just starting another exciting documentary, this time for NOVA on PBS in the States, focussing on Mount St Helen's now 30 years have passed since the eruption in 1980. NOVA is the highest rated science series on television and the most watched documentary series on public television. It is also one of television's most acclaimed series, having won every major television award, most of them many times over - watch this space!

November/December 2009

What with the Christmas shopping on top of work I've unfortunately had to lump these two months together, having failed to update at the end of November! The very last notes were written today (6th Jan) for Britain's African Emperor which goes into the dub on Sunday. Channel 4 now have a page online with info about the programme here.

October 2009

Another new job gets under way with Britain's Roman Emperor, a documentary being produced by Lion TV for Channel 4, which focuses on the life of Severus who ruled in Britain during the 3rd century. Part of Channel 4's "Bloody Foreigners" season, it features some fantastic animated reconstructions of his failed attempt to control present day Scotland, north of Hadrian's Wall...

September 2009

An exciting month which included scoring this year's BFI London Film Festival theatrical trailer, showing in cinemas in the lead up to the festival and then before every film screening during the festival itself. Other work included a one hour documentary for Panasonic on the day in the life of a photographer using a compact camera, which will be distributed as a DVD with their new products.

August 2009

Attended the premier of Kandahar Break in manchester, had a great night with lots of positive feedback. Working on music for some Nokia videos, further work on Scent and the cities & climate change documentary series.

July 2009

Highlights included giving a talk at BAFTA with the director and producer of Vigilante (see Music/Video section for a clip) as part of the Rushes Soho Shorts Filmmakers Market. Also attended the premier screening of Soi Dog (see May 2009) at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, attended by over 200 people with guest speaker Terry Waite.

June 2009

Into the second episode of the documentary and also starting to work on some ideas for a new short film by Darren Bolton and Blueprint: Film called "Scent", in conjunction with the UK Film Council.

May 2009

Work begins on a new 8 part documentary series for Rockhopper and BBC World on cities and climate change.

Also produced a track for the promo trailer of a film currently being made by Gramafilm documenting the YouTube Symphony Orchestra and their performance at Carnegie Hall.

And finally (when there's time to fit it in!), working on some music for Soi Dig, a film by Environment Films which follows the work being carried out in Thailand to help control and look after the population of stray dogs.

April 2009

Last cue finished (after much work!) for Kandahar Break, a feature film set in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime in 1999 (filmed in Pakistan and, due to unfortunate circumstances, Tunisia - watch the BBC news report!).
